π How to use EP Workbench for Histogram Analysis of openep data?
EP Workbench (a desktop application) brings electroanatomic mapping data (EAM) to your personal desktop!
In this article we will look at the histogram analysis feature of EP Workbench.
EP Workbench supports .openep data format (which can be converted from a mapping system e.g. CARTO, Ensite etc. using our converter tool. Please contact us for more information on this.
π What is histogram analysis?
Histogram Analysis can be applied to voltage, conduction velocity, or any field maps.
Histogram Analysis is an emerging technique which seeks to provide quantitative analysis of voltage maps over and above a low voltage area. Essentially, voltage histogram analysis is an extension of voltage area calculations where multiple areas are calculated each with a separate voltage range of interest.
π How to use Histogram Analysis tool on EP Workbench?
1. Load openep data from Systems window, on the menubar navigate to: File > Load > OpenEP
and select an openep file with the extension .openep or .mat
Load the openep data from the systems window
2. Once the file has loaded into the 3D Viewer on the left, go to the 3D Viewer windowβs menu bar and select: Field > Histogram
. You should now see a grey mesh, this because the histogram field hasnβt been applied yet.
Select βHistogramβ in the Field dropdown.
You should see a grey mesh once you selected Histogram field
3. To apply a Histogram to the mesh, go to the tabs on the bottom right, and select Histogram
, then choose the Field (which surface data youβd like to apply the threshold to) and then select the Threshold value. You should see the two colour applied to the mesh.
Optionally you can change the Bin Numbers, which will change the number of the bins in the histogram viewer.
Select βHistogramβ in the Tabs on the bottom right window
Choose the field, and the threshold value to see the histogram applied to your 3D mesh
Note: You can go further and convert the regions below the threshold into regions. Regions in EP Workbench are useful for simulations in EP Workbench OR to export and conduct your own analysis outside of EPw.
