⬇️ Downloading EP Workbench Beta for Academic Use

Please note we do NOT support older versions of Windows or Linux, nor Mac with Intel chips.

MacOS (M-series only) – Beta Stable Version (Recommended)

  1. Download: EP workbench - MacOS version available from The University of Edinburgh
  2. Please press on “Order Now” (Free of Charge)
  3. Fill in your details and your Authorised Signatory’s detail (this should be a representative from the department/ business function who has the authority to sign on behalf of the employer)
  4. Once the Authorised Signatory has approved the purchased, you can download the zip file.
  5. To install, simply unzip the file to your computer, double click on the .dmg installer and follow instructions on screen.
  6. NOTE: If you get an error, then ensure within Settings > Privacy and Security > Enable App Store and Known Developers in the Security section. You may also be prompted to Allow EP Workbench to run.

Windows (10/11) – Beta Unstable Version

  1. Download: EP workbench - Windows version available from The University of Edinburgh
  2. Please press on “Order Now” (Free of Charge)
  3. Fill in your details and your Authorised Signatory’s detail (this should be a representative from the department/ business function who has the authority to sign on behalf of the employer)
  4. Once the Authorised Signatory has approved the purchased, you can download the zip file.
  5. To install, unzip the file to your computer (including the _internal and EP Workbench.exe), double click on the .exe file.
  6. Optionally: Move the _internal folder and EP Workbench.exe to your Programs folder and create a shortcut of EP Workbench.exe to your preferred location (e.g. Desktop).

Linux (Ubuntu 22/24) – Beta Unstable Version

  1. Download: EP workbench - Linux version available from The University of Edinburgh
  2. Please press on “Order Now” (Free of Charge)
  3. Fill in your details and your Authorised Signatory’s detail (this should be a representative from the department/ business function who has the authority to sign on behalf of the employer)
  4. Once the Authorised Signatory has approved the purchased, you can download the zip file.
  5. To install, unzip the file to your computer (including the _internal and EP Workbench.opt), double click on the .opt file.
  6. NOTE: You may need to allow the file to be executed. You can do that by right-clicking on the file, selecting and modifying the Properties to allow execution.
